Our very own Lion Randy Holmes MD and Citlalilt Pastrana spoke to the club about the residential treatment for pregnant and postpartum women with a substance use disorder.

This is accomplished at The La Cada and Allen House programs. Dr. Holmes is a Nationally recognized leading expert in the field of Substance Abuse.

We are fortunate to have him as a long standing member of the Whittier Host Lions and Doctor at Whittier PIH.

Whittier Host Lion’s Steve Rosas and Ray Perez helped out at the Saturday January 31st Sight Fair in Hawthorne with the California Lions Friends in Sight.

Steve located correct prescription in the computer and Ray located glasses for the community members to test fit.

A labor of love brought to you by 2 great Lions. We are always looking for men who are inspired to help the community in which they live in.

Join us on a Thursday meeting and see what all the fun is about.

At our weekly meeting Mike Liaw and Andrew Wilson spoke to the club about the work of the Orchard Community.

Mike Liaw started this as housing for young men aging out of the foster system and providing a staple living environment for them and helping them to get established and live on their own.

This is done in a house with an ADU unit to assist as many as they can.

Our Impact

Our Impact

During our 100 year history, the key to our longevity and success has been combining our service mission with clever and sometimes outrageous fun. Both sustain us and fuel our continued growth and efforts in the community. Our weekly meetings are conducted in that spirit and the laughter and camaraderie are contagious. Fun and fellowship also accompany our fundraising events and social gatherings.
