During our 100 year history, the key to our longevity and success has been combining our service mission with clever and sometimes outrageous fun. Both sustain us and fuel our continued growth and efforts in the community. Our weekly meetings are conducted in that spirit and the laughter and camaraderie are contagious. Fun and fellowship also accompany our fundraising events and social gatherings.
Since 2000, through our Grants & Scholarships program, the Whittier Lions have distributed over $1.9 million back to the greater Whittier community.
The Whittier Host Lions Club has been serving the greater Whittier community since 1922.
The Whittier Host Lions Club is a group of 127 members of all ages, heritages and walks of life who are dedicated to serving those in need throughout the greater Whittier Community.
In 2019, we raised $98,000 towards our Sight for Kids fundraiser, our largest annual fundraising event.
In 2021, $64,000 in academic and vocational awards were given to high school students in recognition of their outstanding achievements. An additional $115k of grants and assistance were given throughout the greater Whittier community.
At our 2019 Sight Fair, we assisted 265 families with free eyeglasses and eye exams.
The club’s mission is to care for the youth, the hearing impaired, and others in need in the Greater Whittier Area.
We have events throughout the year to raise dollars for our scholarships and provide services to our residents and community.
Our board members work hard and volunteer their time to support our community.
